Consumer Duty

Consumer Duty legislation was introduced by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in July 2023. It aims to create a fairer financial services industry that puts the customer’s interest first.

The FCA seeks to create better outcomes for consumers while ensuring that firms within financial services have measures in place to ensure their own staff strive towards these outcomes.

This means creating structures of oversight within firms and periodic reviews to ensure the product suite, customer journey, governance, training, pricing, distribution and more are all up to a high standard.

William Gray | Financial Planner makes a commitment to follow the principles of Consumer Duty legislation for the betterment of outcomes for clients – which in turn will create a more positive and long-lasting relationship with clients, centered around good advice, desirable outcomes, and mutual trust.
